I don't think there is any way that you could not love her. She has a naivete and innocence that brings a different perspective to the story. She falls for an older man who is off limits due to her age and has to endure her sister making a play for him because they are more suitable together.
This story spans over many years and tells a story of wanting what you can't have and the inability to move on from that. Lake is smart, kind and fierce. She worries about others' feelings even when you think she should be selfish.
This series of 4 books had me captivated for a year. It's angsty and complex and a complete journey that you will love and hate.
