We all go nuts over the perfect book boyfriend, but heroines need love too! I chose to highlight Lake Kaplan from The Something in the Way Series by Jessica Hawkins I don't think there is any way that you could not love her. She has a naivete and innocence that brings a different perspective to the story. She falls for an older man who is off limits due to her age and has to endure her sister making a play for him because they are more suitable together. This story spans over many years and tells a story of wanting what you can't have and the inability to move on from that. Lake is smart, kind and fierce. She worries about others' feelings even when you think she should be selfish. This series of 4 books had me captivated for a year. It's angsty and complex and a complete journey that you will love and hate.
We have your 10th stop on the "Meet Your Next Book Boyfriend Tour" hosted by Foxy Blogs. #YourNextBBF Rhett Rabideauxfrom How to Date a Douchebag: The Learning Hoursby Sara Ney
Reasons why I love Rhett -- 1. He's polite and respectful. (Except when Strange girls text him lewd things or when his teammates haze him) 2. He speaks French fluently. And it is soooooo sexy. My favorite french quote.... "je te veux plus que n'importe quoi que j'avais voulu dans ma vie" (I want you more than anything I've wanted in my entire fucking life.") 3. He's a wrestler! He wears a singlet and he's buff and strong. 4. He has physical flaws. With being a wrestler, he's suffered a broken nose and has scars. These are my favorite kind of heroes. The ones that aren't perfect. 5. He's naive, innocent and inexperienced. He has no idea how charming he is. And that just makes him more loveable.
